Blog entry 7

People have had delusions and paranoia about believing that they are famous stars in the real world, this type of problem is based on the Truman show syndrome. But this syndrome has been taken to the level where people who have this problem think it's real. In the article Andrew Marantz states that "Shifts in technology have caused the content of delusions over the years, where in the nineteen forties japan controlled American minds with radio waves and in the nineteen seventys the C.I.A started to implant computer chips in brains. Andrew tells the story of Nick Lotz who was the star of a reality show who strung out on the finally and missed his chance to have the cameras turned off. Although Marantz makes a good point but I think there are good reasons why people think in a reality show because of the expansion in technology.

In the world people think their in a reality show simply because were being watched every time we walk the streets. There's cameras everywhere now a days it's on the street lights, it's in the buildings and even in automobiles. We have news reporters film people especially criminals on who walk out of courthouses or police precincts and the reporters try to interview them and they don't want to be filmed. Cameras aren't the only problem there are other things that make people have delusions about reality shows.

The author Andrew Marantz argues that back then human minds can be controlled by radio waves, satellites and computer chips. Unfortunately it still happens but these are more advanced. We have now tracking devices that can track anybody at anytime, such as ankle braces to track ex-cons on house arrest. Also there's wiretapping that is used to also track people but mainly to hear other peoples conversations

People think that there being watched which makes them think the world is a reality show. I now see the reasons why people think have that logic and truthfully there is no stopping it. But I think the government is watching us and were watching other people whether its by camera or television. I truly understand now the Truman syndrome.`
