Orgainc recipe dish

My Organic dish that I made was a chicken salad with apples and grapes. I choose to make this organic dish because it was new to me I never knew that you could make a salad with fruit that has mayo in it. I found this recipe online at a website called (All recipes.com) and it shows different kinds of foods that you can cook and it has a lot of organic recipes there's some I never heard of and my dish was one of them. I'm really a salad person but I decided to give it a shot I had help from my mom she's likes to make salads so she was experiences with it but I did most of the work.

This is the store that I got my ingredients from the store is called stop & shop and it was hard to find things because I never been in stop & shop before but I managed to find what I needed the store is located on northern boulevard in Queens

My ingredients I had to buy was chicken breast, gala red apples, grapes, two bottles of honey mustard. Some of the ingredients  I had at home which was the mayo, garlic powder and black ground pepper. This is the receipt everything on here was expensive because organic products is expensive.

My first step to making this dish to dice the chicken but it had to be cooked first but before the chicken could be cooked it had to be cleaned first so the first thing I did was put the chicken breast in a bowl and put water in it and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes and also I put apple vinegar as well.

               2.          I had to cut the fat and the slime that was on the chicken because it is not healthy to leave that stuff on.

             3.     After I cleaned the chicken breast I had to season the chicken with garlic powder

          4. I put the chicken in the pan and put it in the oven I the oven on 350 and let it cook for 10 minutes.

                            5. I now had to make the salad I use earthbound farm organic baby arugala and cleaned it then I cut my grapes in half( made 1 cup) then I diced my red onions(1/3) after that I diced my apples(1apple) and soaked it in lemon juice because apples turn brown fast and the juice prevents it.

                    6. I took my mayo and placed it in the bowl(2 tablespoons) along with the garlic powder(1/4 teaspoon) and the honey mustard(1 tablespoon) and the black pepper(1/8 teaspoon) and also I diced the chicken and placed everything in  the bowl.

7 everything is placed in the bowl and I mixed it up

                                 8. the chicken salad with apples and grapes in served on a plate

In the passage " Mom, Dad, Buy The Broccoli" the editorial argues that the Food industry compaines are producing more advistiements on their products that is causing children to buy their food more frequently which is causing obesity among children. Although I agree with this statement but however I think that children do not have control over what they eat therefore parents should be able to buy healthier foods but parents can only afford what they can.

Parents are the ones who provide the food in the household. A parent has to make sure the their child has food to eat. Parents can only buy what they can afford not every parent can buy the best healthy products especially poor or low income parents who can barely make ends meet sometimes they may be able to buy healthy foods and sometimes their not able to or they buy healthy foods that can contain high calories and starch. Parents can buy whatever they want for their kids since they are the household keepers but parent tend to buy unhealthy food for their kids. Children have to eat whatever their parents make even if its unhealthy. Since parents don't have money the child may be forced to eat food that are unhealthy.

Parents have to control their childrens eating habits due to certain food conditions. Children may become allergic to certain foods they cannot eat. Some children could be allergic to alot of food so the parents has to make sure their child gets food that their not allergic too. In grocery stores there has been reports on foods that have salmonella. Salmonella is food poisning that develops in certain foods more frequently healthy ones. How are parents supposed to buy healthy food that have food posining in them. Food can become spoiled over time which means its no longer eatable. Some food go spoiled fast such as tomatos. Tomatos can become spoiled in two days or less.

Food companies have to advertise to keep the business going. They must adertise in order to make profits you can't start a fastfood place and make it into a frachise without advertising your products. Mcdonalds has something called the dollar menu to make their food more affordable. Food industries have to compromise their price range in certain area for example manhattan is an area that is very expensive food industires have to raise their because of the area attractiveness.

In conclusion parents are in control of what their chidren eat. Children should eat more healthy foods but foods have start to cost more money which prevents parents from buying the right foods. However the food industry companies are more likely to have lower prices on their products. If the cost of healthy foods were less expensive children would eat less junk food.

Children aged from 10 to 14 year-old are more likely to start working smoking due to inappropinate films. In the passage 'Imitation of film: here's smoking at you kid' Nicholas Balakar argues that thirty eight percent of young adolescents who start smoking from. Rated R movies they watched. Although I do agree on Nicholas Balakar opinion but I think that children who start smoking is not from films but from stress because kids who have emotional conditions or body conditions are more likely to start smoking.

Children who go to school are 10 times more likely to be addicted to smoking. In high school children start smoking because the students are under pressure because of the classwork and tests. The requirements that all students must follow is not only classwork but the midterms and finals and even regents. It's more hard for students to get through tests than it is to get credits all of those things can affect a person emotionally which makes them start smoking to ease some of that pressure or stress. Reports say that high school students are most likely to be addicted twice as much to smoking. When I was in school I always saw kids after school smoking and often those kids who in the afternoon and in the morning.

Pregnancy can cause kids to start smoking. Now a days children from 14 to 18 have kids and that puts a lot of stress not only emotionally but physically and it requires alot

In the movie the matrix Morpheus believes that Neo is the one but he has doubts and cypher doesn't believe Neo is the one. In the end of the movie Neo choose the be the one but he choose by fate but choose it himself because even though his fate is to be the one but Neo has the will to choose to follow his fate. I think we have the right to choose to between fate and free will because people have different fates in life and sometimes it may not be what we want so we have a choice to follow or not follow. In the matrix Neo fate was to become the one the savoir of the world at first he didn't believe it but then Neo decides to go and follow his fate. Neo didn't have to follow his fate that was just morpheus belief and the oracle said somebody is going to die and neo is the one he didn't want that but it was Neo made a choice to go with his fate then go with his belief. This tells that people fates can be dangerous and some people decide to go with their fate. Sometimes people's fate are good things but people may not want to do what that fate requires If my fate was to run the family business trucking company I may not want to be a truck driver I may want to be a doctor I choose my fate as a doctor. Humans have the choice to pick there own fate Neo choose his own fate just like he had the option to take the blue pill but he took the red pill his fate was by choosing the red pill was the wake up in the real world.

In the matrix Neo was given a choice to take the blue which means he would go back to his life or the red pill which means he would discover the truth and he choose the to discover the truth. If I had to choose I would say a little bit of both because both of these pills could have a bad affect and a good affect. The red pill means to discover the truth with Neo he choose this pill and ended up in a world he can't get out of. It's like if I'm choosing between the army contract that's 3 years and a marines that's 5 years and I choose the marines and I get there and see that being a marine is tough I might start to regret that decision but I can't leave because I'm under contract once under contract there's no getting out. The Blue pill means to stay the same but sometimes I want to know more then just keeping things the way it is. If I was a detective and I'm investigating a murder I want to know more about the murder so I can solve the case which where the I take the red pill to find out the truth. Both of these are just like choices in life but the red pill seems to be more of a risk and the bill pill I may like but then I might want to know more so I would take a little bit of both sometimes.

Reality television sends inappropriate messages to the young people who thinks being on reality T.V is more important. In the article" The dangers of Reality T.V by Timothy sexton the author argues that" There are many different reasons that reality television causes a negative impact on people. One of the reasons he states is that Reality television promotes the old belief that competition is the key to success in a capitalist economy. Although I agree that competition has a bad effect on people but however I think competition is an importance because when you want to succeed there's always will be competition

In order to get what you want you have to compete because another will want the same thing as you. If there is a role in a broad way show and you have to show the producer that this is the person that I need. Other people are going to want that same but the producer is only choosing one person for that role and he has to pick the right person. Also competition lies in job interviews you have to show that person who is interviewing you that you want the job their always going to be others who that spot

Competition builds character in you. If I wanted to go into the U.S Marines I would have to compete to be a marine. I as a recruit has to show my drill instructor that I am willing to compete to become the best of the best and if I was a drill instructor I would want the recruits that has what it takes.

In conclusion there are many reasons why reality T.V impacts young people in a bad way such as competition. I know that Competition can make people do certain things there not supposed to do but on the other hand I needed hire people for my business I need the best people who fit in my business.

Freedom is not something that most people are going to be inclined towards or be receptive to. I think most people do not desire freedom because it depends on what humans have experienced that may be freedom to them. In the allegory the cave there was people who were chained up in the cave since they were born and one of the prisoners got free and discovered what freedom really is and when he came back to the cave to tell them about what he discovered the other prisoners thought he was crazy. Those prisoners have been in that cave since their childhood they think the cave is freedom the cave is all they know about and the prisoner don't want to leave that freedom that they have. Freedom is based on what humans think is freedom if I lived in a farm all my life my freedom would be the farm I wouldn't know about the city because my freedom was the farm. There's even people who have been abducted since they were kids don't even know it they could have been locked in a room all their life not able to come outside so freedom to them would be the house.

People have had delusions and paranoia about believing that they are famous stars in the real world, this type of problem is based on the Truman show syndrome. But this syndrome has been taken to the level where people who have this problem think it's real. In the article Andrew Marantz states that "Shifts in technology have caused the content of delusions over the years, where in the nineteen forties japan controlled American minds with radio waves and in the nineteen seventys the C.I.A started to implant computer chips in brains. Andrew tells the story of Nick Lotz who was the star of a reality show who strung out on the finally and missed his chance to have the cameras turned off. Although Marantz makes a good point but I think there are good reasons why people think in a reality show because of the expansion in technology.

In the world people think their in a reality show simply because were being watched every time we walk the streets. There's cameras everywhere now a days it's on the street lights, it's in the buildings and even in automobiles. We have news reporters film people especially criminals on who walk out of courthouses or police precincts and the reporters try to interview them and they don't want to be filmed. Cameras aren't the only problem there are other things that make people have delusions about reality shows.

The author Andrew Marantz argues that back then human minds can be controlled by radio waves, satellites and computer chips. Unfortunately it still happens but these are more advanced. We have now tracking devices that can track anybody at anytime, such as ankle braces to track ex-cons on house arrest. Also there's wiretapping that is used to also track people but mainly to hear other peoples conversations

People think that there being watched which makes them think the world is a reality show. I now see the reasons why people think have that logic and truthfully there is no stopping it. But I think the government is watching us and were watching other people whether its by camera or television. I truly understand now the Truman syndrome.`

In the movie the Truman show Christof states that "He could leave ant any time if this were anything more than a vague ambition if he was absolutely determined to discover the truth there is no way we could prevent him. Truman does discover the true nature of his life even though Christof tried to do whatever it took to stop Truman from finding out the truth. Truman's triumph says a lot about free will in our lives because it shows that we as humans have the will to do whatever we please. In peoples lives today we have the right live our lives the way we want to there are always going to be people who try to prevent another person from doing something for example if a child wants to grow up to be a doctor but the parents want that child to work in the family business because they think its right for that kid but the parents realize that they cant hold back there kids dream of becoming a doctor because if that child is determined the parents can't stop him. Truman wanted to know the truth because he was determined to see what the real reality is. We have so much freedom in our lives that we don't have to listen to people that don't want us to do as we believe. Christof states in the movie that "I have given Truman a chance to lead a normal life. The world the place you live in is a sick place. Christof's statement is not correct because the real world has options there are places that are sick but there's other places that are not sick we have the option to go to better places and everything shouldn't be the same because there would be little known about the real world. The benefits of living in seahaven is everything would be the same ting each day. Seaheaven is just all good aspects but nobody knows the bad aspects and there's know vacations or no exploring differnet things if the world was like seahaven there would be no world.

It is easy for humans to be deceived by rumors and lies. But also humans can think that the lies were being told is the truth, Unfortunately what we do not know is that what were believing is such false beliefs. In the article "I know the truth", Jeffrey Kluger states that there is a proposed plan to build a mosque near the ground zero site, Two researchers from Ohio state university R Kelly Garrett and Erik Nisbet interviewed 750 people and only one person believed in the alleged rumor about the Islamic mosque. These two researchers came up with two conclusions which are "it is easy to manipulate people's belief systems with insinuating pictures or inflammatory qoutes" and "Even in the best of circumstances, fewer than a third of people were willing to reverse thier positions ,regardless of the contradictory evidence they were given. Although I agree with R Kelly Garrett and Erik Nisbet conclusions but, I think that humans believing in false beliefs have extreme consequences because personal information can leaks out that can hurt and end peoples careers and it also can make people make bad decisions.

False beliefs can hurt and as well end peoples careers. Manipulating peoples beliefs systems with insinuating pictures or inflammatory quotes can make personal information to slip out which cause people to lose there homes, it can cause bad reputations for something that's not true. For example theirs cyber bullying anybody post evidence of another person online and it doesn't have to be true but to other people in there mind they think the post is true. In 2009 during President Obamas campaign there was an allegation out that Obama was not a U.S citizen and his birth certificate was a forgery. Reports stated that Barack Obama was originally born in Kenya and became an Indonesian citizen. There were documents shown on television that could have impacted his career.

Erik Nisbet and R Kelly Garret argues in one of their conclusions which states" Even in best circumstances, fewer than a third of people will reserve their positions regardless of the contradictory evidence they were given. Even though people will stick by their beliefs but also it makes people choose bad decisions. When humans makes these decisions it can cause people get into financial situations for example scandals. The Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme, a lot of other investors invested in Bernie Madoff over a period of time and come to find out that those investors got scammed. People could also end up in jail.

Inconclusion Humans can be deceived easily by rumors and lies. R Kelly Garret and Erik Nisbit came up with conclusions why humans believe in false statement which is manipulating and people standing there ground on beliefs that are not true. I now understand that people will believe in things that they think is true even if its not and also people making false beliefs will never change. However in these situation there are always consequences, I believe that false beliefs can get people into bad situations and impact their lives.

Allegory the cave is about a Greek philosopher name Socrates who starts to imagine a world where people are imprisoned in a cave since their childhood and chained up from head to toe facing the wall most of their life. These prisoners only see the shadows on the wall which is caused by the fire and those shadows are the only thing that's real to the prisoners. Socrates then said one of the prisoners is freed from the chains and starts to discover that the shadows are not real. What the prisoner is starting to see is a whole new world he now sees real people, sunlight and realizes that the cave is not real. The prisoner returns back to the cave and tells the others about he saw but the other prisoners don't believe him.

My pace in life is similar to allegory the cave. I am a city person the only thing I knew about was the city just the prisoners only knew about shadows. My environment

Humans are easily being deceived by such false beliefs. In downtown Manhattan there is a proposal plan to build a mosque at the ground zero site but researchers at Ohio state university believe that people are being duped by these accusations and conducting a study to determine the weakness why as humans believe in cover up lies. 750 people have reported at least one rumor about the Islamic cultural center. R Kelly Garrett a researcher for Ohio state university states the reason why people believe in such lies it is because when subjects are presented with data that contradicts their beliefs they often paradoxically respond by sticking to their biases even more strongly. Two conclusions came up to this matter one conclusion was it is easy to manipulate people's belief systems with insinuating pictures or inflammatory quotes. Another conclusion is fewer than a third of people were willing to reserve their positions regardless of the contradictory evidence they were given. R Kelly Garrett's statement on paradoxically I agree with. There is data that contradicts humans beliefs.

R Kelly Garrett researched and cites the body studies showing that people are being presented data that contradicts people's beliefs I agree with his research. In 2001 two airplanes struck world trade center killing millions of people. President George W. Bush at the time sent the armed forces to Afghanistan and Iraq to get the people responsible for the attacks and to find weapons of mass destruction. But it wasn't true the real reason he sent the troops to Afghanistan and Iraq was to take control of the oil fields and during all those years there were no reports of weapons of mass destruction. The 9/11 story was a cover up so the government could save themselves.

I think it is a good thing that these investigators are conducting studies on the brain. The author writes that the investigators are determining the prefrontal cortex and other primal emotions light up or power down in these situations. It is my understanding that it is easy to play with people's emotions. For years I have seen people who can lie there way out of situations and make people believe their words that seem true but its really a lie also since George bush is the president the people are relying on him to protect the United States and the president can say anything wants because he has the trust of the people and trust is can emotion that anyone can take advantage of.

In conclusion I think humans are being duped with false data and rumors. People can easily believe something that seems true but its really a lie. it is very important that we as humans should watch out for false rumors and watch who we trust even if it is the government. Also continue with these investigations were in situations there are no false beliefs.

Arthur's writing ENG

This article I am reading is called Hype. hype is about advertisements being the most prevalent and toxic of the mental pollutants. Advertisements are all around the world, Ads can be posted on billboards, cars, stores and since Ads are now digital its being put as L.E.D signs. The author in this article made very good statements. One statement is "No longer are Ads confined on the usual places : Buses, billboards and stadiums", He also said that "I often used to hear Beethoven's ninth symphony play in my head now I hear that kid singing the Oscar Meyer wiener song". These statements that the author made I really agree with what he said, And Ads are being displayed everywhere.

Advertisements are ending up on places
